Please join Good Ol' Girls and Girls in Tech for a special joint presentation by Peter Leyden, Director of the New Politics Institute and former Managing Editor of Wired magazine.

This engaging presentation lauded by U.S. Congressional leaders across the  country and seen on the Google campus draws into
focus how advances in technology and new media, along with dramatic shifts in the demographics and generational make up of the country, are rapidly reshaping our politics.

It also offers ideas and strategies for how progressives can replicate our 20th century success in this new and dynamic century.

Peter Leyden is the Director of the New Politics Institute, responsible for developing a diverse network of strategists from many different fields to help progressives take advantage of today's massive changes in technology, media and demographics. Leyden comes from Global Business Network, a futures research and strategic consulting firm that pioneered the use of diverse networks of high capacity individuals.

Leyden previously worked as the managing editor at the original *Wired* magazine that helped drive the digital revolution and pioneered the early online new media. He has worked as a journalist at several newspapers and is the coauthor of two books, *The Long Boom* and *What's Next?*  He's written for many publications, including *The New York Times*, the *Chicago Tribune*, and the *San Francisco Chronicle*.

ABOUT GIRLS IN TECH Created in February of 2007, Girls in Tech was founded by technology marketing and PR mavens Adriana Gascoigne and LaurieAnne Lassek. >

> GIT was born to further support girls in an industry that, traditionally, has been primarily, well, mostly full of guys. GIT believes that we¹d all be better off by developing improved resources, cultivating stronger relationships and celebrating our achievements more often.>

> Girls in Tech is an organization which caters to intelligent, professional, and influential young women working in the technology industry. The organization is membership driven and aims to provide tools and information to empower, encourage innovation, inspiration and involvement among its members. At the same time, GIT seeks to collaborate with like-minded men in the industry.>

> Girls in Tech offers a variety of resources to women to supplement and further enhance their professional careers in and around the technology industry. Some of these resources include networking functions, round table discussions, social engagements, and recruitment events.>

> ABOUT THE GOOD OL' GIRLS >

> Good Ol’ Girls is a political, professional, and social network for progressive women at every professional stage and from a cross-section of sectors, including politics, government, non-profit, law, technology, the arts, and business. Good Ol’ Girls acts as an exchange and marketplace of resources, career opportunities, events, and ideas through a membership listserv and member-inspired gatherings.>

> Ode to the Bay Area’s progressive nature:>

> The Bay Area is home to numerous amazing Democratic and left-leaning groups. From San Francisco Women’s Political Committee to Women’s Leadership Alliance, from Democratic Women’s Forum to Emerge – these are just a few of the remarkable groups that help promote, support, endorse, train, and advocate for women and progressive women-friendly candidates and agendas. These groups all have a clear purpose, place and need. Good Ol’ Girls was created not to compete with these amazing organizations but to compliment them. www.goodolgirls.com
